Our Special Needs Animals were at the Products and Services show again this year and again they didn't dissapoint--they stole the hearts of many!!!!!!! The Lake Area's Annual Product and Services Show was held on March 1 and 2, 2008, at the Country Club Hotel and Exhibition Center in Lake Ozark. We featured some of our special needs animals and you saw first hand where a portion of your donations are going. We have some new additions to our Special Needs family; Carmel, a Maltese-Shitzu, that has no eyes. Bobble, a brain damaged Maltese, Boots, a Maltese who's mother chewed his back feet off and Jeri a Maltese born with no eyes. Some of our other special needs dogs that were there are: Wishes, who had both of his eyes removed, Toni, a hermaphrodite; Rocket (a German Shepherd, who survived an arrow that punctured her right lung which is not functioning), Precious (a Maltese, with only 3 legs), Joplin our deaf Australian Cattle Dog, Jackson another deaf Australian Cattle Dog. Some of our other special needs animals are: Baby Blue, who is blind, was found roaming in the woods and survived an animal attack and canine hepatitis and Walker a blind Great Pyrenees who is also diabetic.
Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the lives of these precious animals.
Would you like to sponsor one of these Special Needs Animals? Many of these animals need surgery or treatment for an illness and that combined with long-term food and shelter, can cost a lot of money. Your donation of $20.00, or more, a month will go a long way in paying for the care of your new pal. Please contact us for more information. Your Help is Desperately Needed!!!!!!!!
Well, now you do!!! We have a Wildlife Rehabilitation license and do quite a bit of rehabilitation. We have rehabbed oppossums, birds, racoons, squirrels, flying squirrels, coyotes, skunks, foxes. The list is endless. All of the wildlife we receive are rehabbed and then released back into the wild, unless they don't survive. We recently had a fox that was injured and was not expected to live. Because of our persistence, he is alive and was released back into the wild on Sunday, June12. If you would like to see pictures of our Fox, go to our Pet List and look for Fox.

The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live." -Norman Cusins
Our Thrift Shop is located at 167 E. Hwy 54, in Camdenton which is right next door to Subway. If you would like to volunteer your time, we need the help. We are also accepting donations and would appreciate anything you may have.
Dry dog and cat food, canned dog food, dog treats and dog toys. What we need more than anything is your monetary donations to help pay for vet bills for our permanent members as well as care for new animals in need.
We just received a pitiful unspayed female that is full of cancer. If she would have been spayed, she probably would not be in this shape. We are pleading with the public to please spay and neuter your pets. 1 out of every 4 dogs that are not spayed or neutered will end up with cancer.
Is your dog or cat nervous, frightened of thunderstorms, destructive, or anxious when you leave him? Try Rescue Remedy-- a **FEW** drops in a water bowl can relieve anxiety in some dogs and cats-- doesn't sedate them-- only takes the edge off and seems to relax them to stimulus a bit. Doesn't seem to affect non-anxious dogs at all, or if it does, I cannot tell a difference.
Faster responses can come from putting a few drops directly into the anxious dog's mouth. Rescue Remedy is used successfully in boarding kennels for dogs who are having a very hard time adjusting. A little goes a LONG WAY-- it is possible to sedate a dog with Rescue Remedy.
Rescue Remedy is obtainable from most pharmacies or local herb shops....
We are small, but we are firmly committed to helping homeless, abused or abandoned dogs and cats through contributions and your donated efforts. Permanent homes will be found with pre-approved, caring individuals in return for a modest donation to our organization. Residents that are not now, or may never be deemed adoptable will be provided a loving, permanent home here at our Sanctuary.
Our continued efforts are only possible with contributions from concerned, supportive individuals. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
We invite ALL interested, caring individuals to inspect our sanctuary (by appointment) or visit with us and learn more about our future plans. We are ALL volunteers and ALL FUNDS donated will be used for the animals.
